Laidlaw Group Designs Promotional Literature For The Luxury Collaborative
The brochure is housed in a square envelope with a wax seal. Each envelope was assembled and sealed by hand. The paper selection and wax colors coordinate with The Luxury Collaborative’s corporate colors. The seal is the organization’s monogram.
Wax seals, with their rich and captivating history that spans thousands of years, connect us to ancient civilizations like Mesopotamia and Egypt. These civilizations used primitive versions of seals for administrative purposes. However, it was during the Middle Ages that wax seals truly came into their own. Nobles, clergymen, and rulers used seals as a mark of authority and authenticity, a tradition that continues to fascinate us today.
Wax seals held great symbolic value, conveying social status and identifying the sender based on the design, which often incorporated words and personal emblems. They served as an official mark of approval, guaranteeing the authenticity and security of the document, as it was impossible to replicate a wax seal once it had been tampered with.
Both the brochure and envelope are square and easy to hold. The user experience when opening the package is a bit mysterious, ceremonial, and reminiscent of the power and prestige of a sender in days gone by. The brochure is printed on 80 pound cover stock. The envelope has a slightly metallic finish that works well with the wax’s textures and the brochure’s satin finish.
The brochure is designed as an accordion fold printed on both sides in 4-color process. Each panel showcases two members with a signature image, a brief overview of the business’s services, and relevant contact information.
The Luxury Collaborative’s media sponsors, Boston Common Magazine and Modern Luxury Interiors are identified on a tip-in card that fits nicely into the back of the brochure. The folding mechanism keeps the card intact. Shawmut Communications Group and Dave Gagnon receive printing credit and our sincere thank you for a job well done!
